Willowbrook/Rosa Parks Transit Station

Willowbrook/Rosa Parks Transit Station

Principal Michael Anderson provided support architect services to STANTEC/RNL Design for this project. The Metro Willowbrook/Rosa Parks Transit Station is the next stop along Los Angeles’ busiest light rail line, located 2.5 miles from the Compton Martin Luther King Jr. Transit Station. The station connects Metro A (Blue) and C (Green) Lines connecting to Long Beach, Downtown Los Angeles, high technology south bay, and Norwalk community. The station serves the Willowbrook Community, New Martin Luther King Jr. Outpatient Center, Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, and a county medical office building. The new transit station features 20,000 square feet of customer service center space, a Metro security office, bike lockers, bike shop, and redesigned bus bays with plaza space. The community has received more than $1 billion in economic development in the form of medical, university, senior housing, and civic facilities in the past ten years to complement the transit station. These combine to create a new destination in an existing community.
