Compton Transit Oriented Development

Compton Transit Oriented Development

Standing on the shoulders of those who came before us, we have the prosperity of today due to their work. For this reason and many more, the design of this facility was not limited to function but serves as a place of lifestyle and living that provides space for recreation, gym, events, education, and information, and connects people to the larger world. The building appears low profile from the street, yet one can walk into the central two-story lobby, which opens into a central courtyard. We placed the building on the opposite side of the Compton MLK Transit Center where seniors can use the center as a destination and point of travel. The center connects residents to the Metro A Line, a bus terminal serving several bus lines, and Uber and cab pickup and dropoff zones. The residents of Compton call the building “The Jewel of the City.”
